how about a simple diagram for the latch set up?I am working on a set and have seen this before in pics but i dont have enough time or beer to figure it out. I want to cheat o.k

I just drilled a hole and ran the rod (from the latch that goes to the handle) through whats left of the door and glued some vacume hose to it (to make it gripper) and called it done. So I just pull on the rod to open the door ..........
