Hey guys, I have read the posts recommending the "waggy" springs in the front and the chevys in the rear. Which years of "waggy" springs do I need to look for? Front or rear? Also, what shock combination for a truck on a "budget" works out well? The truck actually needs shocks now in its stock form, will the shocks you recommend be o.k. to run on the truck now? I actually need step by step on parts and recommendations as I know nothing about this 4x4 world. Just looking to make a moderate trail truck. Your help is much appreciated.

A lot of people that run waggy springs are running 44044 which is a part number for rancho springs. The chevy springs in the rear are from a 88-98 chevy 1/2 ton. also a i have friends that are running 2.5 inch lift YJ springs on the front. they dont give as much lift as the 44044s.

o.k. that just confused me. So most people will either run waggys up front, 44044 or Toyota rears? Is this correct or have I just butchered this? What will work fine for an economy build? Also, I need to know what shocks to look for and can I put the shocks on the stock set up or are they geared more for an aggressive approach? Names of shock choices would be great. Thanks for the help and suggestions.

If I were to do it over, I'd just get the All-pro springs and be done with it.

i cant offer much input on all the spring options out there. but i think i can already see kyron's point. it is probably cheaper in the long run to get what you really want than to try to make do.
to think of all the time i have spent mixing and matching leaves!

Ya know I bought the 4" All-Pro front springs because they are (about) the same price as the 4404's and figured I'd use Chevys in the rear to save some $$ ..............

After missing half a days work getting the springs and buying an Add A Leaf, screwing around with the double shackle and lift blocks trying to get the runner to sit level I endend up buying lifted Chevy springs to get the lift I needed to level it out......

I shouldn't have been such a cheep ass and just bought the AP rear springs in the first place..........

same here. i thought it would be cheap to run mazda rears for 100 bucks but now i am stuck w/ an 8 leaf rear pack and two inch block and still sagging in the rear an inch or so.
and yeah i had to go to the yard to buy the things (after walking out to see if they had a mazda 2wd b/c the guy wanted me to pick out what i wanted since it was custom) then by some bushings which i couldnt use b/c they have a metal sleev inside and out. i am already looking around for a different rear spring.

so yours are probably about the same as a 6 inch lift spring.
also how long are they. I want to get rid of blocks all togather.
I just did an SAS and I have 6 inch chevy springs in the front.

Not the same arch as a 6" spring though....

They have a nice little arch to them and they flex pretty good :)

Oh ... Sorry, There the 64".

ok thanks for the info. I would like to stay with just 52 inch springs for the fact that I dodnt need much flex I'm more into the mud and snow than the rocks but a little rock crawlin here and there is fun. and no I dodnt know who that is, should I. I was born and raised here and alot of new people have moved here in the last 10 years.
