Heres my question. I have an 84 truck. It was a carb, did the efi swap. Now my question is the transmission on a carb is different from that of an efi? Correct? Gettin ready to do the dual cases so does that mean i need to swap trannys? The
reason i ask is cause i do know that the carbs have the side shift t case which puts the shift lever in the tranny housing for the t case right? WIll a top shift t case bolt right up and not put the shifter any farther back? If this sounds confusing
iam sorry:( I know bigdaddy had a carb in his so if u read this i would like to know what u did.

THanks for the help

Joel

my friend is running a carb tranny which is a g52 behind a 7mgte and dual cases. all you need is a top mount case for the rear. an efi tranny a w56 is stonger though, so your stock case is the front case and a top shift as the rear. you get it?:D

in my truck its a 93, it had a 22re and horrible g58 tranny. i swapped it out so i could run dual cases. so now i run a 93-22re. 86-w56.84 case coverted to top shift using parts from a 83 top mount case, and a 86-top mount case for the rear. yes the shifters are back farther. the shifter boots needed to be modded and a larger hole needed to be cut for the first shifter. and the hole inbetween the shifter and the first t case shifter had to be covered with sheet metal. :D
