No you dont "need" to lift the motor also ........... esp for only 1"

so can anyone offer their opinion on how far you can go w/o lifting the motor? i was thinking as long as the top of the fan doesnt hit the radiator. the problem for me is that i am about to put my trans in after rebuilding it and putting in my crawler so i would just as soon do "the" crossmember for all time now and worry about the engine later. b/c i want drive it! (just sas-ed it too)

and i thought i saw somebody offering already made spacers a few months back?

I am using his 2" motor spacers with his 3" body lift and 2" Bud built X-member

Heres a link to the motor spacers http://4crawler.cruiserpages.com/4x4/ForSale/MotorMount.shtml

On my 84 I had to weld the spacer to the frame instead of bolt, but its no biggie ;)

roger brown:) thats where i saw them probably. smart guy. you know (off topic) i took his idea of a grab handle on the driver side roof and a flashlight mount where the handle used to be.....and put two and 2 together and realized i should be able to put a handle in the roof of my 91 driver side! duh
i think i am going to jack my dtrain up like crazy then.

You're running a crossmember that lifts the rear of your drivetrain (tcase) 2" but not lifting the engine? Does this appear to put any strain on your rubber engine mounts? Have you torn any? Any radiator interference?

I want to tuck my tcase up higher when I build or buy a new crossmember but I've been hesitating due to the engine lift question. If I can get away without touching the engine, that would be great.

Thanks,

Allan
