This weekend I installed new engine mounts in my runner. In the process I pulled off the center wire that plugs into the ignition leading from the distributer cap. I plugged it back in. That is all I can see that happened but now the engine won't stay running unless I stay on the gas pretty good. It chokes and sputters and then dies. Any ideas? Could it be the timing? All I did was jack the motor up to remove the mounts. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

When you say in the process, elaborate... Were you jacking up the engine and it pulled apart? You may have pulled a wire out of the same plug... I agree with rob, look a little harder at the wiring.

While working on the right side my arms must have pulled the wire off. I did not realize it until I tried to start it. I checked all the spark plugs and all the wires in the area where I was working. I will go back and recheck again to make sure.

Is she fuel injected if so you may in the process have pulled the intake tubing apart enough to let air in after the flow metering just a guess ? I`ve had it happen before while changing an oil pan on another vehicle and I chased the ignition system for days till a little old Japanese mech said oh didya check the intake:rolleyes:
hope that helps some and good luck
