Diesel tranny question

I'm planning a project and need to know some specs on a 84 deisel tranny out of a 2wd:
-what is the 1st gear ratio
-would it bolt to the back of a 22R(IE is the belhousing pattern the same)
-would I be able to swap tailhousings from a 82 5spd(L52??)
-would it be worth it at all?

All I know is that the gear ratios inside the tranny are identical. Tranies are cheap instaid of monkying around trying to swap and convert I would just go pick one up at a local scrap yard for usually 100 to 150 bucks goodluck

Check out Marlin's website he has a whole section on trannys and even regearing one (can't remember which one) to a 5 something first gear ratio:eek: .........Hans
