What year is the toy front axle you're swapping in?

i read it on prirate, i think it has to do with the studs. you would have to do a seach over there to find out if this is corect or not.
and i have a 85 up front... well did till i found out it was bent the went 83, and i used 81 rotors and 93 big piston calipers and it worked great:D

pbb is where i saw it but i dont recall it saying why it wouldnt work just the differences so you could tell them apart.
right now the thing i can see that would keep it from working is the depth of the "hat" putting the disc in the wrong spot. or maybe the holes not the right diameter for the studs but i doubt it.
i was going to put them on and if they fit w/ the caliper then i will put the studs in and tell everyone that pre 81 will work. but i doubt all that info on pbb is wrong!

I'm not sure if pre '81 rotors will work or not, try em. I used to own a cruiser and did some checking on the rotors with Spector Off-Road. They are a large supplier of OEM, Remanufactured and Aftermarket cruiser parts. Basically they show the front rotors as having this break:
9/75 to 7/80 and then another rotor from 8/80 to 1/90.
So there is obviously some difference. Hope they work for you.

It has to do with the mounting of the studs on the rotor... I could go on and on but it looks like you guys figured it out... :D

Pre 81 LC rotors will work on a pre 81 mini-truck and 81+ LC rotors are used for 81+ minis. The newer trucks use 2 bolts to connect the hub to the rotor, the older trucks use the wheel studs to connect the hub to the rotor.

the source of my confusion was that even though i bought rotors for a 77 lc they are the 2 bolt style. so they are really for an 81-up. i did verify that there is a different part number for an 82. this brand (wearever i think-cheap anyway) must just not be on top of things. so in the end i have 81-up rotors even though i definitley bought them for 80 and down. they work then of course.
feel bad for whoever needs the other style and buys this brand.

I have Wearever's (from Auto Zone) on both my Toyota's, no problems so far.

i dont think there is anything wrong w/ them. it is just that if you needed rotors for an 80 and older cruiser you would get these which are for an 81-up
