Greets All -

I have a 1991 4x4 Yota and currently have the stock size tires on it ( insert chuckle here ) :) How large can I go with stock suspension tire wise? maybe a 31" I would say ..or a 33? Also who make a good on /off road tire.....mostly a lot of sand and rocks in the areas I go in...any help appreciated..Thank You.

not sure what size you could fix, but if your looking for some goos on AND off road tires i'd go with either the all-terrains or the mud-terrains. They won't ware so fast but you can still get a decent amount of grab from them. Espeicaly the mud-terrains. They're cheap too.

you can fit a 31 w/o any problem or action and a 32 but you may have to adjust your torsion bars or pound the body seam flat at the rear of the front wheel well (its kinda behind the plastic) if you do both on the correct offset wheel you could probably fit a normal 33- not a swamper.

Thx for the info gentlemen...I think I will go with 31" on this round for now..seems best. Anyone know a good tire site or a place to go to get a decent deal on tires?

You should get 31x12.50s AT BFGs. Wider tires would help in the sand, though you will need to replace your stock wheels to do that. I bought my BFGs at Costco if you know anyone who has a membership.

hmm appreciate the info Rcl...I have a costco membership card so I am ok there...does Goodrich make a bit smaller width size 31" that costco has? I am pretty sure I can get at least a 31" x 8 or 10 on the stock rim...thx again

31x10.50s will fit on stock wheels, I think they would cost about $115-125.

Swamper LTB's are the best bang for your buck. Might suck if it is your D.D. though. I am about 500 miles away from buying some 34 x 10.50's. What other EXTREME tread tire in a 31-34 size can you get for $100-120??

About to move in to an apartment in Irving. I got a cool job at the Toyota Dealer hear in Collision Center Parts. I am trying to find a TRD axle from a totaled taco, we have a ton of them wrecked that is. If you need any blow-up diagram for any part of any toyota, let me know.
