BORE racing

Anyone ever competed? Spectated? Looks way cool, I didn't realize we had this stuff just an hour from SLC.... :D

Well, I'm the staff writer for the Valley Off Road Racing Association this year, plus I have followed desert racing for about the last 7 years and gone to some races........................

Spectating a desert race is boring for the most part. Most races, the vehicles are started in intervals so there is very little vehicle to vehicle action. What you want to do is try to access a part of the course that has some whoops, or a jump to make the spectating a little better.

I haven't been to any BORE races, but have checked out the site some. It's a small organization, but the thing with desert racers, they for the most part are very friendly. Most races, you can get right up to the vehicle and check them out before the race. It's a great sport.

Of course just watching it doesn't compare to getting a ride in one of the Class 7 or 8 trucks:D And more than likely, if you want to get involved, there's usually some teams that need help with pits and chasing.:D

My buddy and I were going to build a 7s truck for next season, but he knocked up his wife, so that's been set on the back burner... He pays for the parts and I show him how to build it... I've done many hours of research on the SCORE, BORE, and BITD races... It's cool to dream, but it costs a bunch a money to race each event, not including the 20k+ you just built the truck with!

We'll do it one day...

I have been to 5 race's in wendover and Jack pot. There cool to see, I know a few people that race in it.. :cool:
