I just finished installing all-pro's rear disc conversion and e-brake. What a PIA, lots of little modifications to get everything to work right. Anyone running this e-brake setup, and if so, how tight should I adjust the parking brake mechanism? Right now I've got it a little loose, like about an eighth to a quarter of an inch gap or so. Thanks for your help.

1/4" is pretty close to mine. It seems that these E-Brakes are hit and miss. I didn't have to do anything to mine, just bolted right up.

I'll try to run it like it is I guess. I was just worried about it rubbing as I drive it. Should the pads be making any contact at all when the parking brake is not on? No matter how much I adjust it it still seems to rub a little on the back pad.

Mine is close, but does not drag. It seems that I just read a post on POR not too long ago about someone having problems with the back pad draggin. May try a quick search over there.

That might have been my post. I spaced the pad away with a washer (or two, can't remember) Still seems pretty close to the rotor, but I haven't been able to drive it yet. Time will tell I guess. I found driveshaft install to be the biggest PITA personally. Maybe I need a body lift :p

Yeah, I really had to wrestle the driveshaft to get it in and then you've got to be a contortinist to get to the bolts. I'm still trying to get the rear disc brake set up to work. Bolt on my .... I've had to do all kinds of little tweaks and then when I thought I was finally done, I tried to put the wheels on and they wouldn't fit. I've got to grind quite a bit of metal to get the wheels on and hope it doesn't weaken the caliper that much. It would be nice if for $500 they would include a set of instructions or at least tell you they won't fit with stock rims. Unfortunately all-pro has already got alot of my money, but it will be a cold day before they get anymore.

Sorry to hear about the rear disc brake problems as well. Again it must be hit or miss as I have the AllPro rear disc brake kit and it bolted on with no problems. I run 15 x 10 alloy wheels on 3.5" backspacing and they bolted right on as well. I wonder if it the fact that I bought my stuff from them about 2 yrs ago makes any difference.

I think the problem with the wheels is just because they're stock. I think a set of aftermarkets would clear fine. It just ticks me off they didn't say anything, especially since I was at the shop with the truck when I bought the kit. And it's not like it's just a little close either. I've had to grind away up to about a half inch off the top of the calipers. It was either that or leave the truck sit for a month before I could afford new wheels and I cut the backing plates off, so reinstalling the drums isn't an option. I just hope I haven't weakened the calipers enough that I have problems. I know if I have to replace them I won't get my core back. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up if they want to try this and have stock steel wheels, I know it would have helped if I had known in advance.

Quick update. After much grinding, I finally got it done. Total PIA to install, but man the brakes are awesome now. I also swapped in the FJ-80 master cylinder, so that's probably part of it too.

Aaaahhhhhh, Just what I have been saying for the last 7 months. All-Pro, yeah, they wont be getting anymore of my money either.

Apparently that isnt important though, I called Geiger and needed to ask him a question, when he was being the a$$holio that he is, I told him that, I spent over 2 grand with his company and all I wanted to have is one question answered.

He then proceeded to tell me, well, I have people spend 7,000 and more everyday and with me so whats your point.

Yeah, I will be spending anyother money I put into my truck with other companies other that All-Poop.
