I'm pretty sure I'll need to but just want verification. If go from stock to a 7" lift would I have to make changes to the driveshafts? Or is it possible to run the stock ones in the meantime?

What kind of lift are you going to? Is it a kit or just springs?
If its just springs then you will need to do a drop down drag link for sure. I would say that you should be ok with your drive shafts, but you cant do anything with the shafts untill you know your Flang to Flang messurment, and to get that you would have to have your lift on. I would install it and see what happens, I have put a 6 inch superlift on and did not have to mess with my drive line. Good Luck!

I put a 4" trailmaster on mine and I had to lengthen the front shaft. The damn shaft would fall apart just driving down the street!
I ended the tube out of a efi shaft and taking about 3/4 of an inch off of it and then taking the stock tube out and welding the longer tube back on.

yea,,It will depend on how much flex the rig has after your done..Too much flex on your pass side and your drive line will fall apart so you will need to get it together to really find out what it does under full flex..worst case you will need a longer one,,add another 150bucks (give or take)to the cost to legthen a shaft..are you going all 7inches of suspension lift of some body lift?

is there some sort of drive shaft spacer, instead of new drive shaft?

No....
with any "real" lift your going to want to rotate the rear end up to the t-case and use a CV drive line instead of stock,
One thing leads to another, and another ........... and another..
I have about 5" of rear spring lift and a 2" drive train lift so the drive shaft "thinks" I have 7" total.

With my approx. 5.5" lift (overall), I had to lengthen my front driveshaft. Like Spider, mine would just fall out as I was driving down the street. It isn't that expensive to lengthen the driveshaft. You will also probably need something different with the steering. I would recommend crossover if you have the $$, and if not at least get a dropped drag link. And you will probably need extended brake lines (or to cut and re-weld the mounts).

well it's all still incertain. My buddy has a brand new 7" skyjacker with the adjustable drag link and 2 rancho 9012 shocks (needing 2 more to complete). I have other things in mind still debating it all.

What type of wheeling do you do. I had skyjackers on mine when I bought them and took all the leafs out and replaced them just to get to where I could drive it without a kidney belt.

My ride is strictly offroad but not much time to be hardcore! I'm moving to probably a 4" lift right now so I can afford to actually get that and drive it this year. Then eventually a 3" body and that would do me fine for the wheelin i do. Then in a few more years start to modify with better equipment.

like all things, money is an issue... reguardless of the lift I would get x-over, and to cheet on brakelines, get to stock soft lines and piggy back them for extended ones. for the D-shafts, yes you should retube atleast the front, but if a merlin is in the future plans then I would hold out till then and save the $100-150 and retube then... you can get away with it at about 4" of lift...... I'd recomend rotating the rear penion up, but that's not necessary right away....
Lots of options, and it wont stop.......ever!
welcome to the club!
