Anyone know if you can fit 33s with a 3 inch (stock center pin location) spring? Im sure theyll rub but im hoping a little fender work will fix that. I was told 32" is the max you can run and not rub at all.......whats the truth???

I run 33s with 3in springs rightn now. They fit but rub when turned and flexed, not bad enough to hurt anything...I've been running it like this for about a year without any problems. Just the seem in the fender well with a BFH:D

Thanks for the info, im runnin 33s too, my soon to be replaced superjunk springs started out as 4" but im sure theyve sagged, and they rub pretty good when compressed even after the BFH treatment, so im debating on what to get. Ive been set on alcan 4" but at 139.00 a pair the 3" Downeys are hard to beat.

I put a set of Downey 3" springs on the rear of my 85' short bed but they didn't come anywhere close to 3" of lift they sat quite a bit tail low (I got Downey 3" springs up front too) and they're way too soft! Cured it with an extra leave under the second leave. I cut down some Early Bronco main leaves I had laying around (I never throw anything away:D ) they're the perfect width too, almost exactly the same as Toyota springs! ;)

Thats interesting......I put some on all four corners of a 85 4runner a few years ago and had the same problem. I called downey and they said for one it was the runners extra weight and two they recommend transfering your old lower leaf, (the first one above the overload leaf) to the new spring. I did that and the truck sat level. I hate dealing with those guys.....but damn thats a good price......then again you get what you pay for..........:D Other than that.......how are they working for you?? Would you buy them again?

I have a 80 toy with a 4inch pro comp lift and I clear 35 inch bfg mt no problem, and a guy at work has a 84 with the same lift and 36 inch swampers. We both clear fine they only rub at full lock ont the springs.

Do you clear 35s with or without a body lift? Do you have the add a leaf in the rear ? How do the pro comp springs ride and do they flex well at all? Sorry for all the ?s but I was looking into pro comp springs and am curios if they are worth putting on or not. Thanks

I am running the 4 inch spring in front, and a 4 inch block in the rear, soon to be ford explorer springs. My rear is sagged but It doesn't affect me, I have a flat deck, no fender wells to rub. the pro comps ride well, they seem to flex well, I mostly see mud and some trail running, no real rocks up here. They seem to be the cheapest way to get lift, and I know they now offer 4 inch rear springs. they weren't avalible when I bought mine. The front torque bar seems to be the limmiting factor for flex, I'm waiting for crossover steering before I remove it. heres a picture of my truck still in it's begining stage.

when i first lifted my truck i told a few ppl that i had pro comp springs on, and they trashed and bashed on me. But i love'em!
I have a 4 inch pro comp lift. I have on 33's and they barely rub in the fender wells when i flex out one side. And yet their flexy enough that i have plenty of articulation to clear any obstacle. So i've been happy with them. And i broke'em in slowly enough so they don't sag. And right now i'm planning on upgrading to 35's. All i need to do is a little bit of fender work. And if i wanted to go crazy with it, i might put on a 2" body lift to make it so the tires would never rub.
