I had a stock toyota a while yonder with 33x12.50's on it with no lift. as far as I can remember I think there might have been enough room to get a 35 in there. You might want to get some offset wheels, and the turning thing might be impossible.
As long as you plan on drag racing you'll probably be ok! :)
go with a body lift or crank in some torsion bar power and add a couple leafs to the rear. I know its the cheap way, and not as neat as a straight axle but it will get them tires in there.
The best thing I did was sell my 88 and then buy my 82!

were the 33's on your 88, I have an 88 for my daily driver and need new tires, I looking at a set of 31's, but would rather have 33's with out any lift, I know the same body style in a solid axle will fit 33's, just not sure about ifs. would like to know before I order the 33 and find they don't fit. I agree the 35's fit better on a solid axle, my 80 hase a 4 inch kit and 35's

No, they were on my 86. Pretty much the same thing. there was a bit of rubbing when in parking lots and what not. I would go with 32x11.50's, much better fit, and look pretty good to. The wheels I had on my 86 were offset, sorry don't remember how much, But they were just the standard chrome steel wheel 15x10 5 star design from four wheel parts.
The 32x11.50's were a little better because you could actually turn and hit small bumps without to much wheel well contact. The 33's allowed some movement but they were pretty tight.

MSB, Did you ever get your questions answered or have you tried to put 35s under your IFS? I am also looking at putting 35s under my '89 without doing a lot of body lift.:santa:

Start cutting. It'll fit. You'll have to cut the firewall up into where the dead pedal is, but I'd love to have someone let me do this to their truck. :D

i got 35s on a 1" body lift. didn't have to tub the firewall. i run stock rims with a 1/4" spacer in the front to help clear the idler arm and the pitman arm, while turned at full lock. i will send you some pics if you are interested. i also wheel the piss out of it, no breaky yet, even with the front welded.

Drew Either he was IFS, or didn't move the axle far enough forward.

TNToy... so are you saying that I won't be able to fit 35s under my truck with IFS without lifting it or SAS?

remove the bed and front fenders, crank the torsion bar and run a shackle in the rear, that'd be my route

I have a 85 pickup and had 33's with no lift and they rubbed only when i had the wheel cranked and had some flex other than that i had no probs with them but i had minimal wheel travel in the rear end. i think that i could have put 35's on the front but the rear end would have been pushing it
