Don't forget to drill a drain hole in each diff guard and "voila"
a cheap and very effective way to protect your diffs :)

i did the same thind and if you want to go higher up past the fill plug just drill the hole 4 the fill plug ant weld a toyota lug nut on top of youre fill plug .then you dont have to try too reach down in to get the fill plug out. plus you can use youre lug wrench to loosen it .i did it it works fine so far.and the lug nut dont stick out past the guard. sorry i dont have a pic

Anyone have an idea of where to get a cap like that in Utah?

Yea just look up pipe in the phone book. There is a place about 3600west and califonia roughly.Looked em up a few years ago. They had it in stock for roughly $20-30. I too may be intewrested in fabricators setup. I like the caps but want to cover the bottom and even clear to the yoke on the carrier. Then i would slide on the driveline. Just before the bolts hop to the skid, then easily slide over the axle. But the caps only help from puncturing. nothing else.

If you have the tools, you can make one of these ...... they work pretty well from what I've seen :) (I have this in the back and the pipe cap in the front.....
