Drove my truck into work today and everything was fine. After work my truck was dead. I tried to jump it and nothing. My lights won't come on and I get no response to turning the key. I'm checking tomorrow that all the leads and connections to the battery are good and that no fusses are blown. If that doesn't cut it what are some other things I can check.

Try a new battery. if you left your lights on the battery could be so dead that jumper cables would have little to no effect. use a volt meter to verify that you have power at each end of the battery cable and at the fuses etc. almost certain to be a bad connection or if it is not the battery or a fuse as you have presumed.

I tried it again this morning and I had about a 1/2 sec. of juice, just enough to momentarily kick on the lights. I'm gonna try to charge the battery with a portable charger and see if that gets me started, then I'm gonna recheck connections and then try a new battery. Where are good places to check for bad connections? I've checked the main battery cables and they are fine (no corrosion or anything) I did recently have a new stereo installed, and I'm wondering if they didn't tighten something down enough when they hooked it up to the ignition.

problem solved. It was a loose battery cable that I somehow missed.
