ok so heres what i got my 94 4runner is making a strange sound when i go around some turns at a lower speed and it makes the same sort of sound when im stoping. i know that 1 or both of my front tires are out of balance and im plaing on fixing that today. the sound is coming from the front and i dont know if it has to do with me repacking my bearings. the sound is like a loud vibrating noise and i dont like it all. if this has happend to any of you or you think you might know what the problem is any imput would help.

I just had a similar noise and it turned out to be my balljoints.

It was really bad when I was traveling about 10-15 mph both accelerating and stopping. It also created some obvious wear on my tires.

how do you go about checking something like this?

You have to check the play in the ball joints and the chiltons and/or haines books have a diagram showing how to test for any play. You can basically jack the truck up and try and shake the tire back and forth to check the upper joint and use a piece of wood to try like a pry bar and move the wheel up for the lower joint. Any play means the joints are wearing out. Tire wear is also a good indicator. Do you have any abnormal wear in any tires? Hope this helps./
