Well, my trunk finally runs like a brand new 1988 4runner!! It may not look it yet (have some rear fender panel rust to fix), but the engine runs like brand new! :redspotda
I was having issues with timing/tuning and it just was not running quite right after installing the new engine. I had a laundry list of things I checked, but it would still not run right. I took it to a really cool local shop (Outer Banks MotorSports), after being rejected from a number of other shops that would not even look at it since I did the engine replacement myself. OBMS welcomed me in their door, went over my engine in detail, pointed out things they found, and things I could work on myself down the road, and were overall, awesome to turn to for help with a project vehicle. They we able to correctly sent my timing (noted that the crank pulley mark is incorrect for the engine block causing the distributor to be off a tooth), properly set my valve clearances, and made some other fine adjustments to get it running perfectly! I was quite impressed, and happy that my beach truck now runs awesome! Excellent power, correct temperature, and clean sounding engine!
Bonus too, that I found the shop I plan to do all my business with, even for my non-project vehicles!
