The sleeve/bushing inside the rubber which is inside the eye of the spring. How do i get this off? I've tried spray lube, a 3lb sledge on the bolt, twisting the bolt (which only rotates the rubber). I'm trying to get some 63" chevies off a truck in a salvage yard and I am stuck.

You're going to have to cut the bolt on either side of the bushing (between the hanger and the bushing) and then, when you get the spring off, you might be able to punch it through. If not , you'll just have to get new bushings (and bolts, of course). I had the bolts seize on my '85's bushings and that's what I had to do-----------Hans

A common problem, heat is the solution.

yeah i brought both of those and got busted for the angle grinder--"no rotating blades allowed in the yard". I figured since it isnt a law or a sin i snuck it in my sweatshirt while i was openly showing the sawzall:devillook
