I have a 1989 2wd Toyota pickup..... I have cut out the 2wd front end parts and welded a solid diff. in it. The truck was auto but I want to put a 88 Standard tranny and transfercase in it. Anyone have any hints or advice before I dive into this..... will 88 pedals n clutch assemble bolt up..
Thankz

The 2WD cab is the same as the 4WD cab for the most part, less the hole in the tranny tunnel for the t-case shifter.
If you get the complete clutch pedal it should bolt right up, you'll also need the clutch MS and SC and hose.
You'll have to get a cross member for the t-case, BudBuilt makes a great one and has a universal mount option, and the rubber mount from a dealer/parts store.
You'll need the flywheel and clutch assy for the manual tranny too.

I assume that solid axle diff you welded in is attached to a solid axle?
What are you doing for steering? cross-over or stock solid axle steering?

I have seen this on other BBS. One of the main issues is to make sure that the crankshaft can accept the pilot bearing for the transmission input shaft. If the crankshaft has not been bored for this bearing, you will not be able to install a manual trans.

I have done this swap and there is not allot to it.. you will need to cut a hole for the clutch master, That is the worst part. I had an donor so all the parts where all there. I did need to get a new rear d-line made as mine was the 2 piece and it was to sort... one thing I didn't do is change the wiring, If you go this way you must keep the switch from the auto and just move it to n. or p.
If you have any questions send me an e-mail as I don't get on here much.
