I've got a '90 SR-5, Auto 4x4 pickup, 3.0 V-6 EFI and I need to set the timing. The ECI sticker is gone, nowhere be found. This truck has every freakin' option you could expect (P/S, P/B, air, cruise, P/W, P/DL, P/Mirrors, etc.). Any idea what the timing should be? Right now it's PAST 15 degrees BTC, and I'm getting 10 MPG, so I'm pretty sure it's WAAYY off.
10 degrees with the jumper connected 8 without.

Bodo, you ARE my hero!! I'll let you know how it goes.
You really should buy a manual for your truck, it makes life so much easier.

Right now I only have a Haynes manual & the microfiche set. If I can get 15mpg or better, I'll keep the truck & get a good manual.

Bunk Monkey is too funny. BTW is there a free factory service manual for 85-86 pickups out there? Anyone?

And so it came to pass, in the City of Brotherly Love, that the timing on the 1990 SR5 was adjusted properly (10 degrees BTDC with the jumper) and the fuel mileage did increase from 10 to 15 mpg and there was much rejoicing.
And 15mpg sucks when compared to other motors with more HP but is better than 10mpg.
Sorry I had to throw it in there because my wifes 95 gets 15.2 and it sucks.

Oh yes, it does suck. Not as bad as 10 mpg but suck it does, just the same. I still have a lot of tweaking to do and I might see the high side of 20 on the highway. If this truck wasn't so damn cool, I'd have called it quits a while ago.
