WOW that looks great!! (Question) Why do you think you paid to much is it not running right? Also did you restore the interior or was it that clean when you got it?

well idk form looking at all these other peoples rigs saying they got it only for 500 buck 400 buck and there nice trucks but idk i dont think anyone would mind getting a truck cheaper then what they paid for. also now that i looked more into it, it needs a trans rebuild because the rear seal leaks and it wines in all gears other than 4th....im guess its the out put shaft bearing? :1shifty: im not sure but i guess its something to keep me ocupied up here in the mainland

on ya the the interior is ok the dash was all cut up and the seats were kinna big for my likeing but it came that clean inside, i was surprized but i also put some corolla gts seats in there for a more sporty look check it out

so i picked up a tie rod from u pull place because the retard that had the truck befor me though it would be the new thing and get towed or something from it heres how bent it was
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z146/derek808/001.jpg

i also picked up some new review mirrors, smaller than the stock ones wich took up my whole window. it was almost like a blind spot.

i bought mine for $500 but then i put about $5000 into it. i found a couple of trucks up here for $2000 a piece in great shape but they are both 20r. no thanks. i think your price was fair. not a screaming deal but definetly not a rip off. your truck looks good now, now keep it going. i'm up for some paint soon too.

true i guess these days no matter what your gonna have to put money into these things, they are basiclly considerd a classic i mean what its up to 24 years. coming on 25 year old trucks.
ya man ive painted my last 2 trucks with ace hardwear rust stop paint and it seems to come out decent not gonna be show quality but i mean u get a scrach on the paint and u can just stray right over it, thats one thing i really like about it

got my stuff in. trans rebuild kit, and wheel bearings for each side. day after my birthday what a great present from the ups man:grin: anyway changed out my wheel bearings over this weekend, went alright, untill i saw how messed up my knuckle bearing was. both sides the top bearings were gone. so had to put it on hold and run around town trying to find the bearing, wich after going to all the auto parts stores and bearing shops, find out u can only get it at the stealership.. i payed almost 100 buck for 2 small bearings.:thumbdown
birthday gift form the ups guy
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z146/derek808/008.jpg
i also order the marlin crawler heavy duty inner axle seals and they really are heavy duty

so i havent posted any updates on this thing since last year. well to cut to the point i sold it:frown:.... just kidding but i did sell my 84 long bed the on im my avatar. now with the money i made form that one im replacing the engine with a brand new one. well sort of its a remanufactered one. im getting it from sunwestauto.com. the shop is right in town from where im living right now. so i scored on that one. the engine is getting an rv cam installed in it also so it should have alittle bit of more low end power.
i no i really wish i could install my own engine but the fact that its about 25 outside and theres 3 ft of snow it kinna rules out that option.:thumbdown well for me anyway, coming from palm trees and beaches to snow and ice, kinna different. sorry theres no pics yet but as soon as i get it back ill be posting some up. anyway thats the lastest.:redspotda

so i got my truck back, brand new engine. love it, it has the rv cam and you can tell at low rpms it pulls, it feell less likely to stall out.

oh ya forgot i finally put in my cd player and speakers. sounds nice. i installed the head unit in the glove box and it isnt as bad as i thought it would be. i really like that i can close it and hide it away form potential dusch bags.

Nice, I woulda hacked the dash up to put the cd player in seeings as the doors are already sort of cut up from the PO.. How did you get them speakers to fit?! I had speakers in my doors, but my windows wouldn't roll down!?

808derek
02-24-2008, 04:28 PM
hey thanks for the feed back,
the reason i put it inside of the glove box is if you read earlyer i found a factory dash that wasnt already cut up and wanted to keep the dash and interior as factory looking as possiable.

i was able to put the speakers in by adding a 1 inch spacer ring. if you look close you can see it, plus the doors are in pretty good shape ill porbably add a 4" speaker where theres previous hole for one, to make it not looks so cut up. thats probablly number 214 on the wish list.

Nice mang, I've got two Sony 6.5" round speakers and two spacers for them, wonder if they'll fit? Did you have to cut any sheet metal?

808derek
02-24-2008, 07:02 PM
when i placed mine in there i put it in a hole that was already designed into the doors structure. i had to mabe "bend":ar15firin some outta the way but after i got it to fit i added some dynamat behind it so it wouldnt rattle between the two. plus it would keep it from getting wet.

well i got my breakin done with the new engine but ill keep an eye on it for another 1000 miles or so. anyway last night i scored big and picked up some differnet seats for 25$. theyre 98 civic seats and theyre basically brand new. look alot more comfortable and it should sit alittle higher than the corolla seat i have in there. ill post up pictures later of them and of the fab work. oh ya thanks goes out to WSUWESTON from the YT fourm he'll be helping me with the installation since he has the same type seats in his.:redspotda

thanks again dave, got the seats in and there sweet. they make driving my truck even more fun.

http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z146/derek808/IMG_0202.jpg

mounting the seats were a lil differnt than i planed but hell it worked out fine.
i bent the rear outside mount on the seat so it was flat and just put a spacer i had to lift it to the correct hight. the front mount was pretty much straight forward. drill holes and bolt it in.
