Well we drained the oil, put a rag under the filter, unscrewed...AND NO OIL Came out!!!!! Not A drop, you could see there was a little inside, but usually the oil gushes allover, Its a 86 p/u 22R with 275000 kilometers, pressure is still good, it burns a bit of oil but it definetly wasn't empty,
Has anybody had this type of thing happen or know what might be happening?

isn't the anti drainback valve in the filter? if so this may be a one time problem.

Usually happens when the engine is hot and you don't waste time taking the filter off. Hot oil is thinner and will drain back more than cold oil. If you start it up cold and run it for 10 seconds (just enough to get the oil pressure up) and take the filter off, I'll bet oil would leak out of it in great volume.
