Hey all...no pics yet but have a '81 longbed that I inherited from my dad when he passed. Its a long bed but my bro-in-law and I want to dive into it and make a hard-core rig. I have seen a lot of short bed rigs with the rears chopped...I'd like to do the same...but do I have the wrong style of Toy to build up into a stump-jumper/wheeler being that its a long-bed? Would dig some feed-back. This is kinda a tribute to my dad...he really loved his truck and want to do it and him proud.
No, you have a great yota to start with.

There's no wrong model of a solid axle Toy to build up.
Stump-jumper ? ? ? ?

Mine is a long bed. Sometimes the extra wheelbase and bed space are nice. I plan to shorten mine eventually to be about the length of a standard bed.
