it looks like you used the sky's kit. It's makes things pretty easy

It skys kit. It was easy, and the springs are Superlift 12" lift springs for 87 Chevy truck. I had to change up the springs a little to make it no so stiff. I'm guessing with everything I have is about 18" of lift for the Toyota. I will show some pics of the motor going in it this weekend. I used a March inward serpentine kit that sets the ac compressor and alt on top of the engine using a short waterpump. This will allow me to use a huge aluminum radiator and fan so I can hook up the ac and have it blow cold.

Man, just when you think you're doing good with your own truck along comes a thread like this... :lol:

How about more details and a ton more pics. You have a sweet truck there for sure...

Don't be afraid to pick up the camera when your hands are greasy. ;)

People can say what they want, of course. This truck was my brother in laws, who passed away last summer in a motorcycle wreck. He was 19.
He was proud of the truck with the 3" body lift and 33's. The day of the accident, we talked about doing everything that i'm doing to it to make it bigger, badder, meaner. Thats what we like. Down here in south Texas we dont do a lot of rock climbing or anything severe; Having the biggest & meanest goes a long way. So, thats where i'm at.
When I got the truck I needed some expert opinions. I went over to pirate 4x4, started asking questions, & got my ass handed to me. So I asked some questions here and got the answers I needed. I figured the least I could do is post some pics of the project.I hope to have some of the motor going in it this weekend.

Pirate is full of good info and builds but I will admit it's not for everyone. If you read the faq sticky and do some searching before asking a question then you should be fine.

Yotatech= SUPER GAY!

WOW, that truck is huge looks like it is going to be a bad ass street truck/dirt road monster that will turn lots of heads. Yes please keep up the pics I would love to see that engine go in, I wanted to do something similar to what you are doing but instead I decided to just build up my little 22-re and regear it. Sometimes bigger isn't better but it sure does look cool keep up the good work!!!

Did you take a bfh to the firewall to clearance the distributor?

Looks like you are definitely doing right... That's a great looking motor.

Are you using a bunch of adapters or fabbing everything up?

davo1977
04-21-2007, 03:02 PM
adapters from Downeys seem to be fine so far. Rear trans mount will be fabbed. The firewall did take a good pounding
