It is the Grant system. I take my wheel with me when I leave it parked in public places, and at home when I am not around.

Just makes sure you park it in an area that isn't easily accessible by a tow truck... there have been a few of those lately...:(

For some reason or another, I have this picture in my mind of-
You on a date with your girly friend at a fine restaurant, sipping on some wine, under gentle candle light, and their sits your steering wheel next to the wine chill bucket....:D :D :D

I too use this method and have been for about ten years. I've used one unit on three different cars then finally had to buy another when I had two cars at once. If you have to park outside you'll definatly sleep better. I also always try to back in when I park.
Hey Big Daddy( boy that sounds weird out loud, lol) Some dude left his shoes on your floorboard!! :D

No I have another car I use for that. Company car, or her car. That would be funny.

Cool, yeah the break in was fun. Almost wasted the Tranny. I got it in May of 2002 and as of Friday it has 24,344 miles on it. I was trying to hit the 50 k mark in one year, but now that I dont go to G/J for work it will not happen.

So how much does the "Grant system" cost? You don't have to have their steering wheel too, right?

Buy the adapter from Pep Boys. They have the best price. Most other places want 20 to 30 bucks more.
It's cheap piece of mind. Just think, how much is all your hard work worth?

Not to bust any bubbles, or get any body depressed about it, but if they want it, they will get it. I worked pakring enforcement for Michigan State University. We would tow cars that people didn't pay the tickets for and what not. The cops would have a list of 5-20 cars (usually on the weekends when everybody was drunk). People would try everything. 4wd's in gear, fwd's with tires turned in gear and parking brake engaged. Everything. It doesn't work. It was always funny when the cops would say: "We need this one, but I don't know how you will get it..." Those were the fun ones. I'd shut off the lights, walk up to the car, unlock it and take it out of gear, or pull the driveshaft. and get the car so it could be moved. MOre often than not, we would use the "eagle Claw" and just lower the boom, hook up to 2 wheels, either front or rear, pick up the end, and drag the car down the road about 4 blocks, jump out, throw a strap on, unlock the car and dis-engage the brake, or then pull the drive shaft then we would be on the way. There was a few times I'd take up 2 lanes because the tires were turned and the car was in one lane, and I was in the other... Plus flat beds work GREAT!

As a side note, if you see somebody taking your car/truck, don't run out the front door, call the cops, and if you have some big ones, run out the back door. Most likely, if they know what they are doing, they will have somebody waiting at the front door for you, and it wouldn't be pretty.

looks a bit cumbersome but I imagine once you get used to taking it off and on every night it would be great. Maybe it would make a nice frisbee too he he j/k.

I'm getting pretty close with my Toyota, and I'm trying to figure out exactly how I want to handle locking up my truck. I may actually weld tabs on the steering and then be able to "Lock it" with a padlock at a full turn or something... As well as the Master Kill for the chassis / engine electrical.

Corey,

I just saw this thread...

Tie your Rotty, or GSD to the front bumper....no one wants it that bad..

or....if you see them taking it, call the police, go to your roof with your .308 sniper rifle and see if you can hit the SOB in the left ear as he is taking off with your truck**

**this method has not been aproved by the ACLU
