I just sold my pickup for a full awn comp buggy. :bluecryin

I feal like a jackass for doing it but the buggy is super badass.

Ill post up some pics on monday but here is what it has

Sprint car chassis
Full hydro steering behind the front axle
38.5 boggs and tsls
Lockers front and rear
44/60
2.8 witha 5 spd tranny
4 link front and rear with coils.

The only thing toyota on it is going to be the steering wheel and marlin stickers :bluecryin

This sucks but i guess i could swap in a 3rz to get some toyota in there.

Ill have pics on tuesday morning.

I wheeled it on my property a bit today. Brand new boggers dont do too bad in the mud

Also took out my 4runner today and she amazed me. I pulled out my buddie in his tj 4 times.

He kept asking " how the hell do you not get stuck when my jeep was hella expensive "

I tell him 2 reasons.

1. Its a toyota
2. i know how to drive

I think i paid about 17,900 less than he did

Silly Jeep owners, get a Toyota! My buddy had a 94 4-Runner, 4 inch lift and 35's. That thing would do some amazing things. It climbed stuff with open diffs the guys with lockers couldn't make it up. Of course to him the redline is just a suggestion from the factory, and can be ignored as you rev it up to 8 grand. The 3.0 still ran good, until he flipped it going 45 MPH and siezed it up tight :thumbdown .

I was taking him threw a tight twisty trail with alot of trees. It wasnt too gnarly but you barley have a inch on both sides.

Well i went to drop down this 8' incline and slid right into a nice 3' hole. (never seen that before :spanka: )

Well he was freaking out cuz my backtire was like 3' in the air and im facing almost totally down. I open my door and tell him to have the strap ready.

Pop the clutch in 2nd gear and came flying out. I honestly have no idea how the fawk i got out of it but i did.

Yeah it kind of does have a tall roof.

fenderbmxer86
12-12-2006, 12:32 PM
about 8" too tall

I came home last night and one of my tsls where at 0psi. I hope that i left the valve screw open when i was airing them down instead of having a flat.

Im either getting my sxs back or im getting to new tsls.

I went to put the tsls up front last night and they hitting my seering arm :bluecryin I guess they are too wide.

I aired down he boggers to 5psi (snow psi) and they still clear the steering by 1.5" . The tsls and boggers are the same width but the tsls are much older so thats why im guessin the look fatter.

Will do.

If i dont get this fuel pump situation figured out im taking from the frame down and putting it underneath my 2nd gen runner.

Normal driving it does fine but when i put a load on the engine it likes to gargle like it has bad gas, then it just keeps doing it until it eventually shuts off.

I replaced it with some better gas but its still doing it. Im going to fawk with the timing tonight, (dont know what the timing is suppost to be set at doest help) and hopefully it will start going better.

Does anybody know anything to check out? iv checked the plugs, gas, fuel filter, and played with the timing but i just dont know too much about 2.8 gm motors out of isuzu rodeos.

Lizard Lips
12-19-2006, 10:56 AM
i dont know anything about that motor but have you checked the injectors? or maybe tps or..... hm..... let me think here i dont know if it has a idle sensor on it but check that also. I just learned with 350's and a few 4.3's and my brother got a 302 so i had to learn how to fix his junk when he doesn't know whats wrong

fenderbmxer86
12-19-2006, 01:20 PM
I really need to get a manuel so i know forsure what the timing is to be set at. elminating that would help me narrow down the "what ifs"

It has a diognostic port plug so if i get the timing set i might be able to plug into that and check out the computer but i dont know if it even works.

If i dont have this thing running PERFECT in 2 weeks im swapping from the frame down into my runner. I measured this morning and i would need 5' links on both sides to connect frame to frame.

Im pretty sure it was the timing. It was over 40* out :help:

My starter is kinda acting up and wont turn it over for a few clicks so i havent ran it under preasure yet but that should have been the problem.

I really want you runner that your selling.

i'll ask him when I see him later today. I know he was saying if he didn't sell it he was going to bob it and dovetail it. and make the top match the dovetail. I'll probably dovetail the front of his too. I'm waiting to pick up boogerweldz. old ride to build. So i have to do something to keep me occupied

Specs on the buggy.

Origanlyy a professionaly built spring car chassis but a few tubes where chopped and bent a bit differant to accomodate the rock crawler comp look.

Engine is a 2.8 Gm V6. TBI!! Runs great but im unsure on miles
Tranny is a 5spd aux15? out of a isuzu. The isuzu crowd says its a very very stout tranny and tcase.

Axles- dana 44 front, 5.38 gears, and a limited slip Rear is a 12bolt with 5.38 gears and a spool. Both trussed and have diff armor.

steering- Full hydro steering. Highsteer and all behind the axles. Every bit of the steering tabs are 1" thick. Way overkill but i guess when it comes to steering it should be.

Suspension- 3links front and rear with coils mounted on the radius arms. All the joints are MASSIVE!!!.

It has a 10gal fuel cell, square front driveshaft and round rear, 2 brand new 38.5 boggers and 2 tsls. Has a elec fan on switch, and fuel pump is also on a switch.

The belly has some very very nice tubework.

I havent had the chance to run it since i fixed the timing but im assuming that was the problem. If not than ill buy a new fuel pump for it.

Quick rough estimate on what its worth.

Chassis- 1500 ( all At the cheapest )
Axles- 1000
Steering- 1800
Tires and rims- 1000
Suspension- Sh1t... 900 in parts alone

Plus the complete great running GM v6, wiring harness, tranny, tcase, all the extra tubework, PLus all the switches and junk.

Yeah thats the reason why im going to chop it up and put everything in my second gen runner or sell it.

I have everything for sale right now so hopefully it sells before he sells his junk. I want it.
