Pulled my toyota out of the garage at 11 last night. Went to do a hot lap around the property and all of a sudden my truck wont go when i put it in a gear.
Everytime i put it into a gear (rear tranny in first and tcase in 4low) it makes a "ererererer" type sound. Almost like its trying to go into gear but something is holding it halfway.
The main thing im afraid of is if i stripped the splines on the output shaft on the second tranny.
The clutch feels fine, and the shift fork is moving.
My main questions are.
- If the splines on the first and second tranny where still splined together would i be able to shift the rear tranny while in gear and running?
- Could it possibly something that is keeping my clutch from fully disengauging?
- Anything to check for before i yank them out?
I sure wish its the clutch because i have a spare but this clutch has less than 5 miles on it, And the only reason why im asking is because its a PITA to pull out a 5'2" tranny setup.
Thanks to anybody that can help.
