violent shaking

i get a fairly violent back and forth shaking when giving moderate gas usually in 2 3 and 4th gears. it stops if i give it full gas, it also only happens about 50% of the time i drive. it also sometimes has no power when starting in first unless i give it full gas then it goes. i have a 91 5speed 3.0 4runner. any help is much appreciated!

i would do a good tune up with ngk spark plugs. and possible a fuel pump

thats the thing, just did fuel pump/filter ngk plugs/wires. im thinking maybe its the cap?

That might be the problem. If I remember correctly on the v-6 the wires are part of the cap.
