I have a 93 p-u that has a vibration upon deceleration at 25-30 mph and lower, usally when down shifting to 3rd and 2nd.

It sounds like tires humming to a stop but I can feel it. I had recently changed the tires and although they were similar in tread, in still get the same noise, so I ruled out the tires.

I get no vibration at all on acceleration.

I had replaced the one u-joint because it was obviously bad.

Is it possible that the other u-joint is bad even though I can not physically wiggle it?

Is it in the rear end?

Thanks

throw out bearing possible and also see if it does it in reverse.

is this an extra cab ? carrier bearing if its a extra cab and yes you could still have a rear ujoin out in the cv there are 2 ujoints a total of 3 in the rear driveline if its a single cab

This has been a fixer up truck since I bought it. It had a bad engine and I replaced it, along with allot of other parts.

Just installed a new borg/warner clutch kit.

I'ts a standard cab with two u-joints on the rear shaft.

I have not noticed it in reverse, but I will try it at speed.

what kind of driveline angle? is the shaft ok? any weights sling off possibly? does it do it with the clutch in and out or just in or just out?

It does it with clutch engauged, not sure about the driveline angle or weights.

It does it just before the speed drops to 25 mph, around 27mph.

I tried it in reverse and could not pick up any vibration.

Possibly the nut that holds the rear driveline to the t-case? I had this problem with similar simptoms. Check it before your driveline comes off! Not sure if you have the same set up that mine would have though ('85 4runner).

hes talking about the rear transfer case pinion nut, the one that you stake but likes to come unstaked. you need a 30mm socket to get it off and on.once you get it torqued down to where it should be you can also tack weld it after you stake it. that keeps it from ever comming unstaked.
