Is there a difference between cv joints on drivelines on different years or styles? I just flat bottomed my 84 truck and I have cv's on both drive lines. One is binding and the other is fine, and the fine one seems to be on a steeper angle.

there are different cv's but as far as cv's go they bind up on less of an angle than the regular spicers do. the front is better off without a cv. the rear your better off with one because it will help the driveline vibration smooth out from the steeper angle.

If you're talking about a double Cardan CV joint from the front axle, I believe there is a difference between those from IFS and solid axle trucks. If I remember right the one on the IFS trucks will do a greater angle, but both can be modified w/a little grinding to do even better.
