So im new to the toy world and im building up my 1980 toy long bed standard cab with a freshly rebuilt 20r, tranny, and dual tcase and im read to lift it. From what i heard i should use 63 chevys in back and move the rear to the front. I have the tools, just know idea how or what i need parts wise. So if any one can give some advise or a web site or anything to help would be awsome.

Springs are from an 88-98 1/2 ton full size p/u. You'll have to make/buy a new front hanger and mount it 11" forward of the stock one, and make/buy a shackle hanger and mount it 3" or so behind the stock one.
To put the rears up front you'll need to add in extra leaves, anywhere from 5-7 leaves per pack. If you mount them in stock location you'll need some banana shackles. Since using the rears up front moves the axle forward about 2" cross-over steering is a real good idea if you don't alredy have it.
BudBuilt.com can hook you up with shackles, mounts, hangers. Real good parts and a great guy to deal with.
That's the basics, if you use the SEARCH feature you can get plenty more info.

chevy mounts must be 3 1/2 inch tubing kind of hard to find not a very popular size, chevy shakles, and stock toys shackles for dual shackle, or new rear mounts and 1/4 flatbar to make new shackles to your length of choice(6 inches to 8 inches seems common), 9/16 and 3/4 drill bit to make shackles, 3/4 grade 5 or grade 8 bolts, stock 9/16 chevy shackle bolts
That is basic tools and bolts for how to search here or pirate4x4.com

I mounted mine 11.5" forward and my tire was too far back under compression, the same with 2 other runners. I would go 12" and/or measure it to be sure it's where you want it.
and I would recommend using all 4 leaves from a 4WD truck(2wd comes with 3 leaves) 3 doesn't give much lift at all and you will need bump stops. with all 4 leaves in it stuffs as good as 3 but doesn't overstuff.

For my chevies i made my own spring hanger and shackles but bought the shackle hanger from www.sky-manufacturing.com Good product and good support. If you don't want to build anything they also have a complete kit for putting the chevies on. Here's a link to the chevy spring swap FAQ on pirate http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20665. Should answer all your problems and then some
I mounted mine 12" forward on an 83 pickup. I made my own front mounts in a wedge shape so that it wouldn't get hung up on rocks, but just slides on over. Works great. For the rear, I have the stock toyota shackle linked to the stock chevy shackle.
