on my days off i go trail riding at a few different spots all in one day. its a hassle to keep getting out and locking my hubs everytime i go from trail to city road. is it bad to keep my hubs locked constantly (on and off road) for just a day of wheelin or do i just have to live with the decision of getting manual locks and set them everytime im at a trailhead??? :help:

no its not bad but is uses gas and u could blow a hub. but lets say u lock ur hubs in like once a year you should engage them on road sometimes to keep them lubed.

so no its not bad to go a few miles on city streets.

ok thats good to know. now all i need to do is find a rear locker that isnt too expensive. is that stuff cheap to have a 4x4 shop do? or would i be better off doing it myself? im not too mechanically inclined though, advice?

You can get an aussie locker or a lock rite for pretty cheap, around $250. They are easy to install because they use the stock carrier. A shop could do it for a reasonable price. They are really pretty simple to install, it helps if you have someone to help you that has some experience with them the first time though.

Running around town, under 45 mph is ok. Just don't go on long drives or exceed 45 mph. Also, DO NOT ENGAGE TRANSFER CASE ON HARD SURFACES.

yeah, from what i understand one wheel on each axle has to be able to break free if it needs to...or something along those lines.
