View Full Version : Tires and Gears
I want to put some 38's on my 22r and am wondering if I need to do something with my ring and pinion. This truck is for crawling only and will never be street legal. Right now I am running dual tcases. If I do need to lower the gears, I was thinking that I should lower one the tcases and keep the 4:10's.
Also, anyone know were I could get some used tires. I just can't justify forking out the $1000 plus for my amature crawler that only gets used a couple times a year.

You will be happier with gears ............ 5:71's read about them here http://zukaz.tripod.com/410suck.htm
But you always could just lower the t-case gears or get dual cases and keep one in low all the time :thumbdown

Stick with the 4:10's and spend the money on t case gears and do 5:1's if you break a set of 4:10's they are a dime a dozen bc everyone else swaps em out...
i got a set of 36 12.50 TSL Sx's 60% for 500 bucks
Thanks for the tire offer, but I really would like to go 38's, plus it would probably cost over $100 to ship.
About the 5:1 tcase, why do most people get the 4.7 instead of the 5.0?

People say the 5.0's are to big for the case and you have to grind em down to far but i love mine

4.7 from marlin are the only cryo gears available. 5.0 are not nor 5.1 Really I would go with 5.29s and be done with it or 5.71 yukons
Order from Longfeild 165 cryoed and your be done with it.
