ok so i just got a 92 land cruiser for my wife...dunno much about em at all! i got an 84 truggy i'm workin on so the cruiser is all new to me. its a 92, 4 door with 3rd row seating...auto, inline 6, all time 4wheel drive with a center diff lock. heres my question...seems to run rough at idle but fine while driving..allthough the tach needle doesnt hardly bounce at idle...just seems to shake quite a bit......what should i look at for the problem?? second question....when i shift from park to drive or reverse it seems to kinda clunk into gear...i have pulled and twisted on the driveline and i cant see that the u-joint or rear end has any play....tranny doesnt slip at all either. any help would be great guys....thanks

I replaced all of my vacume lines and testsed all of the various vacume sensors/switches, and replaced any bad ones. This helped greatly! (I had same problem with my '86 4Runner). You need METRIC vacume lines when you replace them---- s.a.e. sizes DO NOT FIT CORRECTLY!!! They could be loose, (although more snug than the old ones) and leak. :devillook

hmm..i just red something about the efi relay wire harness....supposedly on 90-92 cruisers the relay gets hot....and eventually wears out...drivers complain about the vehicle stalling out and not being able to re-start untill it cools down. apparently toyota sells a wire harness to replace the old one so it doesnt happen again. kinda sounds like what i have been getting...allthough it hasnt stalled yet it was allmost there two times now. i'll take a look under the hood later and let you guys know what i find....
