I am new to the toy deal and want to swap the 20r motor along with the 4 speed and get a 22r lc engineing motor. was wondering what kind of problems i would run into. Any info will help.

It is straight bolt in. The only difference between the 20R and the 22R is the intake. The block is the same, the motor mounts and bellhousing pattern is the same. The exhaust manifolds are the same.

True, but the motor mounts, and bellhousing and everything are still the same.

Instead of buying an engine from LC or DOA, I would build it yourself if you have the knowlege. The early 22R block pre 1984 and a 20R head is the way to go. The intake ports on a 20R are better than a 22R. Everything is bolt on. Duel Weber side drafts, high compression pistons and big valves with the 20R head and the early 22R block are good for 185-190 hp. You can buy all the parts from LC for cheaper than they would sell you an engine for. Just a thought.

That is what i was going to do i had a 20r head rebuilt with all new everthing i just thought it be cheaper to by the short block cause its all ready been machined and blue printed, honed and everthing but if you think it mite cheaper can give me a list of parts i should by then? Thanks again for the help.
