Engine Problem Please Help!

I have a 1990 4-Runner with the 3.0 v6. My crank shaft is bad and my mechanic says it can't be fixed in this engine. Anyone here have experience with this issue? Thanks. R.T.Rogers

I would get a better definition on why. There is nothing special about a 3vzfe crankshaft that I could see that would make it non replaceable. Maybe he meant that the block is messed up from the crank and a new crankshaft won't fix it?
