My idle right now is around 2200 rpm. I was up running through some mud then out of no where it just starting idling really high. And then some times if i turn off the truck and restart it it'll go back down to where it belongs. But after a few minutes i'll go back to like 2200. Does this just mean i have to get my idle ajusted or is this because of my timing chain that badly needs to be changed. Also some time when i try and start the truck the starter screeches and does nothing its like the sound it makes when u try and start it when its allready running. Also just today out of no where my running lights went out along with my interiours but all my signals and brakes lights are fine, i'm guessing thats just a blown fuse tho. Any know whats going on?

Gremlins ?
water in distibutor.
the starter noise is usually caused by a bad flywheel maybe the previous owner started it a lot while it was running and chipped some teeth off the flywheel or maybe your starter is coming loose or something. some trucks have shims to shim the starter away or towards the flywheel. but i bet your flywheel is toast.
possible alternator on the lights but i doubt it. yes you severd a wire or a fuse or a relay of some sort.

I'm sorry to say thats not gonna happen. I'd rather have a beat up truck in the mud than a perfect one sitting in my garage
