Nigga Please! ( Inside joke for those that know the terminology. If you don't know, I apologize. This isn't meant as a "racial" remark.)

:help: "Rears in front, F-150's in rear"? I keep hearing it, but no one can elaborate on it. I understand that the rear leafs will fit up front, but I don't know if they will give me any lift? When I put the F-150 springs on the rear, will I need to modify anything, or will they bolt directly in? Will the Ford F-150 leaf springs give any lift?

I was up past midnight, last night, looking and searching for the specifics on this subject. I need to get a response A.S.A.P. I have an important run on Saturday and I need to get my suspension in order. I screwd up and put some Rancho springs on the rear and now I have lost 80% of my flex. My front has Pro Comps and I know they suck, but they have some flex, but not much and the Ranchos have hardly any flex, if any.

I have rears and my friend is a Ford nut, so I can get the F-150's for a song.
I need some detailed info.

OK... Rears up front... Big thread about it on pirate, I think there's a link in their FAQ.

Long story short, the springs are longer and flex more. You need to mix and match leafs from 2 sets to get enough rate, drop the front hanger 2" and use a 2" longer shackle. Axle moves forward 2", lift depends on the springs you start with but you get at least 2" from the lower mount locations

F150 rear info is a little more scarce but it's a whole lot like the chevy swap with less spring hanging out behind the rear axle. I know they don't just bolt in, not sure on the lift

I'm planning on rears up front because I have one set and can get another set cheap enough. In the rear, I'll probably be using the Wagoneer rears that are laying on my buddies garage floor

as for the f150s you will have to moved the front spring mount right in front
of the old mount which requires a new mount then a longer shackle
that will bolt in the original shackle mount depends on set up of shackle and
mount for front of spring on how much lift you want.

i am running ford ranger fx4 springs in the rear of mine mounted in the
origanal front mount and a double shackle set up in the rear with a 8in
shackle and a one inch block giving me around 5inches of lift.

front are double rear packs making a 6leaf pack in the front. no drop
hanger (will be soon) and 1inch longer boomerang shackles which matches
the back perfect.

and this set up rides like a dream by the way.

so you used the origonal front hanger and a double shackle in the back?
