I have a 85 SR5 X-tra cab. Chevies in the rear. The center bearing on the rear driveshaft is bad. Cost to replace - $131.00. Where can I find a single rear driveshaft? I thought I could buy one for a little more than the center bearing cost. I did search to no avail.

my 88 has a one piece d/s, and I wonder if they're interchangeable.

Yes. I took the 2 piece from my '84 and put the 1 piece in from my '86. A one piece can be purchased from eBay for about $50.00 plus shipping. That's where I got the one to replace the one I took from the '86.

Go to eBay... Click "HERE (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8051211945&category=33738)" to see the one I bought. It was a "Buy It Now" for $40.00! I jumped on it like a bumb on a ham sandwich!!!

i bought a chevy rear driveline from a long bed truck like a 3/4 ton. then i just have them use the center section and put toys stuff on the ends and its a lot stronger than a stock 1 peice. and its about 100 bucks to have custom built.
