3rd gen 4 runner??

I'm looking for some advice in purchasing a 3rd gen 4 runner. I need a bigger rig than my 85 ext cab and I would like to start a project with the 4 runner. I will want a 5 speed trans, but I see in some of the adds different transfer case options, manual, electric, and traction control. Are there some of these that I should steer clear of?
Also did they make a TRD package? electric rear dif locker, like the taco?
Any knowledgeable advice would be appreciated.

My next option is a crew cab taco, but it appers they only offered it in an auto trans? Is that true?

The TRD has a rear locker just like the Taco. You want a manual shift transfer case for sure. Five speed transmissions are becoming rare on newer rigs, everyone seems to want automatics.
