Hole in BLOCK!!! Help please w/ rebuild!!!!

Ok.. I heard a what i thought was a rod knock coming home from work... Well, before i got home, rod snapped in half, went through block, and the splattered oil caught my engine bay on fire!!! DOH!

Well... I have a 85 4runner, efi.

I want find a block, and build it. I will build it myself, and I am capable of doing so. I just need help with WHAT PARTS and WHERE TO BUY THEM. This is my work truck, and is also used for wheeling on the weekend, not to mention LONG LONG(3 thousand miles) road trips.

So... does anyone recomend a place that sells decent TOYOTA engine parts, and what brands do you recomend? I have 1000 bucks to spend on parts, and labor is free. I'm tempted to just do a stock rebuild, but i REALLY want more power....

So, with reliability first priority, 1000 bucks second priority, and power third priority.....WHAT PARTS DO YOU RECOMEND??!?!

dejavu..... i did the same thing but spent $400 on a complete engine with 140k miles on it.

i'm hoping to get a decent rebuild for a grand. I'm re-using my timing kit, h20 pump, and head.....so hopefully i can get some decent pistons, bearing, gaskets, and machine work for that money....
