Trans swap

Was' Up! New to this forum, so go easy on me if I come across as ignorant!! I've got an 86' runner with an auto trans and want to convert to manual. What trans should I look for? (good, better, best). Also, does anyone know if I'll need a new computer and/or wiring harness? I already have mild lift w/32's &4.88's front and rear. :help:

A W56 from an 85-89 22RE.
Be sure the get the t-case too, the auto t-case won't swap over.

You probably don't need to change ECUs.

Thanks! How do I tell what year the donor trans is from? There is a wrecking yard nearby, and the guy say for 500$ I will get trans, t-case, pedals, pedal hanger, flywheel, clutch master &slave cyl. Does this sound reasonable? He has 4 or 5 to pick from. What is best way to determine good one? Anyone? Anyone? :help:

I have a W-56 trans and transfercase out of an 86 that I have upstairs at my shop in Ventura, I don't think I really need it. Let me know if you want it.

Thats funny bcuz I have an 86 runner w/auto trans and I am looking into swapping it out as well. however I was told the ecm indeed needs to be swapped as well. post back if you hear different.
