I don't know if an electric fuel pump would help or not. I have an electric fuel pump because the motor I got is from a Celica and has no place on the head for a mechanical pump. I just got a universal electric pump from NAPA for $32.00. I got the 4.5-7 PSI pump. A 2.5-4 PSI pump should work though. I got the smaller pump the first time and it was not pumping enough fuel, but I think it was a faulty pump. I went with the bigger one just to be sure it was enough though.

Does your truck stumble/miss or just plain run outta beans? You may just need to adress the float level in your carb. To low will starve engine and to high will flood engine at extreme engine angles. This is where I would start, Before spending $ on parts (and time to install) that you may not need.

And checking the float level on the carb is easy, just look at the site glass on the front (may have to pull the air filter assy) while parked on level ground.

Mine does as well as any other carbed truck on steep climbs.
