Hey guys new here. I own a 01' Tacoma and recently come up on a pretty good deal on a 82' pickup  I traded my factory Tacoma wheels and $150 for this thing! Anywya more about the truck in quesion. 82' SWB, 22R, 5 speed transmission. I am wanting to turn this thing into a pure rock crawler. I all ready have a few plans for it. 63" chevys in rear, probably rears up fron(might do some wagoneers tho), cryoed 5.29 gears, 4.7 x-fer case gears, 36" Iroks, cross over steering. So I have some questions about the steering set up. I know I will have to get a IFS steering box, but the truck doesnt have poqwer steering. Now I know there will be no way to turn those big meats wedged between a rock and locked. So I want to run a Hydro assist, but to have a hydro assist dont I have to have a power steering pump? Well any ways I really would appreciate some ! thanks guys
yup you have to have a power steering pump. so go buy the bracket and the pump and a junk yard and then buy a new belt and a reservoir and u should be good.
while you buying a ifs ps box might as well get it tapped for hydro assist.

It's all bolt on. Just be sure to get the mounting brackets for the pump, the resevoir, hoses, and you might need a new engine pulley (if your stock one doesn't have a groove for the PS pump belt). There are slight mounting differences for the pumps throughout the years, so get one from a donor close to 82.
