hi, i just put some 35 inch bfg mud terrains on my 1980 toyota 4x4 short box with a 20 r and a 4 speed tranny, i wana take it on a camping trip, my question is, would i be able to run those 35 inch tires with the stock gears or will it be to sluggish and will it also burn up my clutch, ive been running the truck with 33s and it runs somewhat ok....... what do you think!!!

You need to regear.
That thing won't be able to get out of it's own way.

My buddy did this on his 84 Runner and fried the clutch on his first trip. He wanted to get out and play even though he had his 5.29s sitting in the garage waiting to install. The next weekend was spent replacing the clutch and re-gearing.

I ran the whole con on 4.10s and true 36s. Go have some fun and fawk everybody else.

Word of advace though is dont ride the clutch if you dont have to. If you can bump up without any damage than do it.

Oh and your gonna have to drop down to like 3rd gear to g et up any hill. haha
