After totalling out my Jeep in a rollover I have some cash to start over, and have a line on a 92 4Runner SR5 3.0L V6, 4x4, manual 5 speed, 243K miles on body. Engine was overhauled at about 140K miles.

here is what I want to do, please offer up an sufggestions on how to proceed or NOT to proceed.

will the stock engine and tranny support the rest of the running gear listed below?

dana 60 full width front with arb or detroit and 4.56 gears

14B rear welded with 4.56 gears

37-40" tires

Crossover hi steer with hydro assist

Atlas 4sp with 10:1 lowest

exo cage

I have decent fab skills and will be doing everything myself. YOTAS are a new beast for me.

thanks

With that large of tires you will want to go to at least 5.29 gears.

5.29 are great with 36" tires.

Even with super low tcase gears, I would still go with the 5.29. It just makes life easer. My buddy has 5.29 and 35" tires now he still wants to add a lower tcase gear for crawl ratio. But that is just my 2 pennies.

sounds like fun. keep us posted.

How much you going to pay for that runner??

The 3.0 isnt very desirable.......

Your at the point where you have alot of options...........

with a 14b and d60 the lowest you can go and keep the same ratios in each axle is 5.13 but that will be perfect if you only do 4.56 you won't be able to hardly move when your not in 4 low
