Suspension Comparisons

Red ‘84.……………….............................Blue ‘85

Frame to Axle

Front Axle:
10”……………………………..................11”

Rear Axle:
14½”…………………………..................15 ½”

Suspension Details

Red ‘84: 4” front spring/suspension lift. Stock shackles.
3” rear lifting blocks. Stock springs and shackles (3 ¼”).

Blue ‘85: ?” front spring/suspension lift. Extended shackles.
Arched rear springs and extended shackles (4 ½”).

I want to eliminate the lifting blocks from my '84. If I was to install the springs and shackles from the '85, would my truck sit level, or would the ass-end be up?

it doesnt matter because mine did that and i just used shackles to level it out. or an add a leaf.

I would think a slightly shorter shackle would level it out.

Red 84 ..... BLUE 85..... Hut--HUT........... HIKE

All things being equal a longer shacle will ride better.........

If I'm reading right, if you put the rear suspension from the 85 undr the the 84 it will make the 84 1" higher..............

that sounds pretty close to me and its better to be ass up than ass down (for load carring :devillook )
