I have seen this question answered many times before but I cannot find the answer now, with pbb's search feature down and using all the search options on this site I could not find the information. I have a 1986 toyota 4runner with an automatic transmission, I have taken the auto out and have bolted in a w-56 transmission to take its place. I know I need the pedals and such, but I am planning on keeping the automatic transmission's computer. I need to know which wires I need so I can trick the truck into thinking it is in neutral. If anyone has a link to the writeup or can help me it would be greatly appreciated. Im trying to get two trucks up and running for next weekends Snow run. :redspotda

When I did mine I just put a push button in to start it. Turn the key on then push your starter button. Kinda anti theft switch too. So I don't have reverse lights but I just have to watch where I'm backing.

when u pulled the transmission there should have been like 3 pugs that ran to the tranny one of the plugs has the wires to your neutral saftey switch cut the wires and wire them together thus bypassing the saftey switch
