What makes the TRD model different from an sr5 or any tacoma?

its an upgraded suspension system, ive heard that they have a little more kick due to a "nicer" exhaust but in not sure on that- i know that they have nicer suspension

my 99 Tacoma TRD rides smoother than my brothers 96 sr5. I looked at the suspension on mine and it had factory bilsteins on it, my brothers has since had his struts replace a couple times so I couldn't tell if they had them from the factory. He claims mine has a lot more power, but I don't know if my truck had any special factory pieces or if it's just a case of him thinking it's better because of a sticker on the bed.

I always thought the TRD package had the electric locker and bilsteins

When I was looking and test driving I drove a 97 that wasn't even an SR5 with the electronic locker.

its optional on any of them, just standard on TRD.
