This site has been lacking some tech so here goes my "re-build"
I bought this from a buddie that bought it from some Tweaker hard up for money. When i got it home i found some of the most rigged up things ever.
My plans:
- Get all the tweeker junk out of it.
- 22r on pane
- Ifs rear axle
- Standard chevys in the rear, rears up front until october, that when im going to link the whole thing.
- Bob and dovetail
- Take out the 2wd tranny and swap in a w56w/tcase.
- Flatbelly
- And a bunch more stuff.
Stay tuned, i take lots of pictures.
Please commet as i go along and let me know what you think.

1st pic- Crossmember welds
2nd pic- What the inside lookes like of now.
3rd pic- The donar tranny and tcase.
4th pic- Somewhat finished product.
I still need to notch and gusset the frame, build some drivelines, build somthing to go over the tunnel i cut, and im thinking a 1/4 thick sheet of metal would be a nice guard for the whole belly.
Any suggestions or comments?

Nice build so far, i've been wanting to flat belly my 94 for a while now, i'm going to build my crossmember out of 5/16" plate and have it double as a skid plate. Did you do anything with the engine mounts when yuo lifted the tranny t-case or is the misalignemt not that bad?

No, alignment wasnt an issue. The engine mounts took the lift. Theres still quite a bit of room in the engine mount too. I jacked it up farther to make sure i wasnt maxing out the mount and there was still plenty of room.
The way i built the crossmember lifted it higher than it needs to be, and im going to add some bushing so theres not so much stress on the tcase. I have my idea drawn up on AUTOCAD but dont know how to post my drawings online.
When you go to do it make sure you reinforce the frame, because its pretty thin right there.
I still need to notch the frame for driveline clearence and then regusset the frame. Im also going to be adding a large flatbelly plate 1/4" Thick  nice and buff.

Where did you get the brick lift from? I was thinkng of using balsa wood and coat hanger.....
Let me kow what springs lift it to about your desired ride height (5-6 inches right?) I just did an SAS swap and my truck currently looks like a baja truck. Lifted 5-6 inches up front and none in the rear :dunno: Trying to get that fixed by next week.

Came stock with the brick. Wasnt that a sr7 option
im using the 3 leaf 63" chevies with a block.
Im thinking buggy leaf with a rejoint where the buggy leaf bolts to the frame and then another one at the shackle. and also pivioting blocks. Sound like alot of body roll to anybody? :help:
I will be doing the front lift before i do the rear so i know what length to cut the block, and what shackle length i need.
and yes i will be using a tract bar.

Sounds good, Do you know Justin King? s10 blazer, full exo, fullwidth, 39.5s, 4link front? Im going to be doing the fabbin at his house.
Still up for that Rear axle for the hanger trade? I need to get your number again, i think i deleted the pm that had it in it.
What would be a good front spring pack combination to clear the 38.5s and still be super flexy? I have 2 sets of Stock rear toyota springs with add-a-leafs, and one set of front lift springs.

if you want more flex go with coils and a four link, leaf springs only drop so far. mine truck move about 29 inches from full tuck to compression but personally I don't need that much flex, driver makes a big part of anything more than you can imagine.

Yeah i want to link my truck for other reasons besides flex. But i dont really have the money for that at this point.
Im gettin married in june and having a little boy in less than a month so im trying to just get my truck finished and be able to go have some fun.
And yes driver expierence is 90% of wheelin. i learned that a long time ago went i started wheelin with all the cruiser guys. haha

a three link in the rear is cheap and is actually a better setup than a four link, no droop steer and you can get way mor flex is you set it up right I am comtimplating running a setup we ran through autocad to test 90 degree drop before binding, in real world it is only possible if you dove tail the fram to allow the tires to travel that far either way when I put that on the 84 I am building to sell I will have to use limit straps because coil over are so expensive.

I use it here at work everyday, but we use the civil part of it. No 3d or anything.

he lives in Texas, 3 links are pretty simple if you want to do one in the rear for cheap get two front trac bars from stock toyotas, two big heims, I got some 4 inch O.D. ones from a tractor for free I was going to use those if I ever get to work on my truck again, a set of leaf springs or coils are the setup we tired on auto cad. 3 or 4 link you have to move the fuel tank for a rear setup that is.

Built my front hanger.
Inboarded chevy hangers
Got my rear ifs axle
Got my rear spring pack to mix up for the front
and had my 38s mounted by hand.

04-14-2006, 09:47 PM
Yes it was. I live in apartments so im kinda doing everything top secret, and i just wanted it in without a jack. Im going to be cutting out a 2" section and add 2 tabs with poly bushings so i can unbolt it and so theres less stress. I will also be cutting a grove out of the cross member bar so i can drop the tcase down another inch or 2.
Overall its going to work pretty well, and it was cheap, fast and easy.
fenderbmxer86

I havent been home today, just hanging out at my wifes parents house with my new little boy.
Im going to be taken a bunch of pics tomarrow.
My goal for tomarrow is-
- Mount my IFS rear axle
- Semi mount my Chevy springs. ( mount front part of the spring hanger, bolt on the springs and run a double shackle setup, until i do my pivoting blocks and build my shackles.
- Weld on my rocksliders
- remove all my Push pull steering
That sounds like a good day of work to me, if i finish before dark i will start cutting and grind for my p/s box, and finish doing my seat cage.
Does anybody have a certain view of any part on my truck? crossmember, seatcage, rockslider, front hanger, etc?

Thanks for asking. He was 6 lbs 11 ounces but we where in the hospital for a week because he had a bit of nemonia and johndice. When we left he was down to 6 1/2 but now hes almost eight. Hes doing great now, eats and breaths like a champ. Never really cries or wines, couldnt ask for a better son.

Called again... and said if he has to call one more time where gone. (even though he has no right because my truck is legal and was on public property)
So a moved it to a buddis house.

That looks badass...Love the approach angle. Not to jack your thread, but I really want to bob my bed to lose some weight and gain some wheel-ability out of my 82 L/B...I wanna chop it down right to the rear shackle. I dont have any cutting device, welder or grinder so I was wondering if you could give me a hand sometime in the near future, when you arent too busy with all ur projects and your new son (congrats by the way, i just proposed to my g/f...that was an awesome feeling). Im in Monterey, so Im not that far from ya. Id gladly pay you, though Im in the Air Force and dont make that much...I could bring beer, lol! Just let me know what your time costs and we can work it out. PM me or Email me (mavericktoy81@hotmail.com) and let me know if you would be willing to work out some sort of deal. Thanks,

Thanks,
IAN
Yeah that would be no problem. I gotta talk to the guy that im doing work at his shop but i doubt he would have a problem with it. I could have it cut and re welded within 2 hours. The bondo work might take awile though.

just over 4 months since the last time i posted in this thread.
Updates!
Dual transmissions- G52 mated to g58
Stretched the rear 12" and inboarded the rear springs, also used Rubicon Express Flex joints.
I like the looks and functions have having a bed so i choped out 14" and moved the wheel wells back. Looks bobbed but the whole bed is still there.
Check out the pics and let me know what you guys think.

what are you running for a front spring pack i know its a mixture just wondering what configuration the springs are put together in and also
how much lift you got from them.

That dual trans setup is awsome!!! Have you got a chance to try it much on the road/trail? How does it work? You put the 2nd trans in 4th (to achieve stock gearing) while driving on the street? Is your rear driveline still going to work? Seems like it might be a little too short. Nice build man!!!!!! my hats off to ya...

Mixed 3 differant packs of toyota rear springs. As far as lift goes with chevy springs/3"block/6" shackle my front was sittin an inch or 2 lower than the rear.
That is the main reason why i moved my rear spring hangers up higher to take away some lift.

Havnet got to use it as much as id like to haha.
Third gear seems to be the best average gearing for me. I pushed my rear axle back 12" or so to keep my pinion angle to be to messed up.
Im actually thinking of doing a dual case just for the hell of it.

That thing sure looks like fun. I am thinking about doing a flat belly when I start my truck. (building up parts to try doing it all at once.) My question is, Would it be easier with body lift. I want to retain a low center of gravity so I would use a small amount of body lift. Cab only, Im building a bed. Also, I think I remember a buildup thread on doing this but cant find it. Did you do one? Thanks Bro

If you dont mind cutting you floor a bit i wouldnt go with a body lift but if you dont feal like choping into your floor than a 1" body lift would probaly be the easiest.
I way overkilled the cutting but iv never done it before and didnt want to have to cut it twice.
Dont forget that your going to need to cut off or notch the horseshoe crossmember in the middle of the frame.
Other than those 2 things it is all streight forward. Im not sure what you want to do for a crossmember but i bottyfabbd 2 of them before i came to the one i have now. They both worked before just not the prettiest design.
If you get a designed drawn out or if you could possibly CAD it. Just email it to me and i could build the crossmember to your specs.
Give me a holler if you need any more details about doing a flatbelly.
